DEC 16: For everyone who has NOT sent their payment for their mini commission via Paypal, please do so ASAP so I can begin on your commission. Thank you. If we have previously discussed sending payment by check I will contact you soon.

I'm offering a new commission type I have called "Minis". Some of you may know the term better as "chibi", basically miniature verisons of your characters. These commissions are small, quick, and more affordable than my regular commissions, so everyone can get a special piece of Kilo art for their own. I'll have samples to show within the next day or so, so I just wanted to give a heads up that I am opening slots to reserve a place on the list. You do not need to put any money down to snag a spot. Payment won't be needed until December 13th. Send me a note to claim one of the 12 slots.

COMMISSIONING PROCEDURE

Openings for new commissions will be announced here and on my personal DeviantArt journal. If slots are available for the kind of commission you want, send an e-mail to kilomonsterart@gmail.com with a brief description of what you are looking to get. I’ll reply to inform you that you’ve received a slot and request more information and details about your desired commission.

With the larger commissions, it’s best to give a reasonably detailed description of what you would like. I’m actually one of the few artists that don’t do well when given a character image and asked do as I please. It works much better when I’m given enough background information about the character to connect with and draw a personality from and give life to that character on paper.

If you would like a deadline on your commission, please state it at the beginning. Even if you don’t need it at a particular time, it is always best to give me a reasonable timeline so I can make sure I keep it priority. Commissions without a definite deadline tend to get put last on my priority list and take longer getting to you.

I will sketch out some concepts and present it to the commissioner to give the okay to move ahead. Once the agreed payment has been received at this point I will move on to ink and color if desired. Illustrations will also get a rough color mock up. At these stages, the commissioner is allowed ONLY 3 major changes to posing, position, anatomy, color, etc. If any more major changes are need, the price will need to be increased for the extra work

TERMS OF SERVICE

I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. For example, I will not do business with commissioners notorious for not making payments, excessive nitpicking, or just outright mean/threatening.

Rating of the image must not exceed an R rating, what you would see in a U.S. movie theater. I am very particular about this rule. Generally, blood, violence, and artistic nudity/erotica are okay. Pornographic images will be rejected. If you have to ask whether something is beyond my limit, then it probably is, but then again, it also doesn't hurt to ask either. Send me a note.

I WILL NOT depict minors in sexual or suggestive situations. EVER.

I retain all copyrights on a commissioned image. However, I will respect a commissioner's wishes to not use the commissioned image for prints or other products. Generally I just will be distributing the image on my various gallery pages. The commissioner has permission to display the image on their own gallery pages with proper credit given to me. Ask me if you would like to purchase the copyrights to your commissioned image.

Refunds are issued if I am unable to complete a drawing for any reason. I will also refund a commission if I feel justifiably threatened or harassed. If the commissioner falls on hard times, and I have not yet put a lot of work into a commission, I may refund payment, but after 50% completion I cannot. The same can be said for commissions taking a long time, if I've completed over 50% of it, I will make it priority and finish it, rather than refund it.
